20 All this took about 450 years.

“After this, God gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet. 21 Then the people asked for a king, and he gave them Saul son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years.

22 After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’

23 “From this man’s descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as he promised.

24 Before the coming of Jesus, John preached repentance and baptism to all the people of Israel.

25 As John was completing his work, he said: ‘Who do you suppose I am? I am not the one you are looking for. But there is one coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’

26 “Fellow children of Abraham and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent.

27 The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.

28 Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed.

29 When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb.

30 But God raised him from the dead,

His object of evangelism was Israelites and worshipers of God.
±×´Â À̹æÀο¡°Ô º¹À½ ÀüÇÏ´Â °Íµµ Áß¿äÇÏÁö¸¸ ¸ÕÀú´Â Çϳª´ÔÀ» ¹Ï´Â »ç¶÷µé¿¡°Ô ÀüÇß½À´Ï´Ù.
Though it was important for him to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles, he first preached to those who believed in God.

He said “Fellow Israelites listen to me!”

He said "Gentiles who worship God, listen to me!”

Do you remember Stephen's sermon in Acts 7?
½ºµ¥¹Ýµµ °°Àº ³»¿ëÀÇ ¼³±³¸¦ Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
Stephen preached a sermon that has the same context.
½ºµ¥¹ÝÀº ¾Æºê¶óÇÔ¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿© ¸»Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
Stephen spoke about Abraham.
±×´Â ¸ð¼¼¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿© ¸»Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
He spoke about Moses.
±×´Â À̽º¶ó¿¤ ¹é¼ºµéÀÇ ±¤¾ß»ýȰ¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿© ¸»Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
He spoke about the Israelites living in the wilderness.
»çµµ ¹Ù¿ïµµ °°Àº ³»¿ëÀÇ ¸Þ½ÃÁö¸¦ ÀüÇß½À´Ï´Ù.
Apostle Paul shared the same message.
¹Ù¿ïÀº ±×µé¿¡°Ô ±×µéÀÇ ¿ª»ç¸¦ ¼Ò°³Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
Paul introduced them to their history.
±×µéÀÇ ¿ª»ç´Â ±×µéÀÌ º¹À½À» ÀÌÇØÇÏ´Â µ¥ µµ¿òÀÌ µÇ´Â ³»¿ëÀ̾ú½À´Ï´Ù.
Their history was a context that helped them understand the Gospel.
¿©·¯ºÐµµ Á¦°¡ ¿©·¯ºÐÀÇ ¿ª»ç¸¦ ¸»ÇÏ¸é º¹À½ÀÌÇØ¿¡ µµ¿òÀÌ µÇÁö¿ä.
If I tell you your history, it helps you to understand the Gospel.
±×·¯³ª ¿©·¯ºÐÀÇ ¿ª»ç°¡ ¿©·¯ºÐÀ» ±¸¿øÇØ ÁÖÁö ¸øÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
But your history cannot save you.
¹Ù¿ïÀº ±×ÀÇ Ã¹ ¼³±³ºÎÅÍ ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµ°¡ ±¸¼¼ÁÖ¶ó°í ¼±Æ÷Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
From his first sermon, Paul proclaimed that Jesus Christ is the Savior.
º£µå·ÎÀÇ ¼³±³µµ ¸¶Âù°¡Áö¿´½À´Ï´Ù.
So was the sermon of Peter.
±×´Â ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ Á×À½À» ¸»ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
He spoke about the death of Jesus Christ.
±×´Â ¸Þ½Ã¾ß¸¦ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¿¡ ¸ø ¹ÚÀº À¯´ëÀεéÀÇ Á˸¦ ÁöÀûÇß½À´Ï´Ù.
He pointed to the sin of the Jews who crucified the Messiah.
±×´Â ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ ºÎȰÀ» ¸»ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
He spoke about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
º£µå·Îµµ ¿¹¼ö°¡ ±×¸®½ºµµ°¡ ±¸¼¼ÁÖ¶ó ¸»ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
Peter also said that Jesus is the Savior.
±×´Â ¸Þ½Ã¾ß¸¦ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¿¡ ¸ø ¹ÚÀº À¯´ëÀÎÀÇ Á˸¦ ÁöÀûÇß½À´Ï´Ù.

He said that Jesus is our Savior.

Paul's sermon was not special.
±×ÀÇ ¼³±³´Â º£µå·Î¿Í ½ºµ¥¹ÝÀÇ ¼³±³¿Í ¸Å¿ì Èí»çÇß½À´Ï´Ù.
His sermon was very similar to the sermons of Peter and Stephen.
ÃÊ´ë ±³È¸ ¼³±³ÀÚµéÀÇ ¼³±³°¡ ºñ½ÁÇß½À´Ï´Ù.
The sermons of the early church preachers were similar.
Á¦°¡ ¸Å¹ø ºñ½ÁÇÑ ¼³±³¸¦ ÇÑ´Ù°í ¸»ÇÏ´Â ºÐµéÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
Some people say that I preach similar sermons.
º¹À½Àº º¯ÇÏÁö ¾Ê±â ¶§¹®ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
Because the Gospel does not change.
¿©·¯ºÐÀº ¾î·ÈÀ» ¶§ºÎÅÍ ¹äÀ» ¸Ô¾ú½À´Ï´Ù.
You have been eating rice since you were young.
¿©·¯ºÐÀº Áö±Ýµµ ¹äÀ» ¸Ô½À´Ï´Ù.
You still eat rice now.
¿©·¯ºÐÀº ¹äÀÌ Áú¸®Áöµµ ¾Ê½À´Ï±î?
Don’t you get tired of eating rice?
¿ì¸®µéÀº Á×À» ¶§±îÁö ¹äÀ» ¸Ô¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
We have to eat rice until we die.
±×°ÍÀÌ ¿ì¸®µéÀÇ À°½ÅÀÇ ¾ç½ÄÀ̱⠶§¹®ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
That is because it is the food for our body .
¿ì¸®µéÀÇ ¿µÈ¥ÀÇ ¾ç½Äµµ ¸¶Âù°¡ÁöÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
The same goes for the food for our spirit.
¿ì¸®µéÀÇ ¿µÈ¥ÀÇ ½Ä·®Àº ¿ÀÁ÷ ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
This is the only food for our souls is Jesus Christ.
¿¹¼ö´Â ¿ì¸®µéÀÇ Á˸¦ À§ÇØ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¿¡ Á×À¸¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù.
Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
À̰ÍÀ» ÀüÇϱâ À§ÇÏ¿© ³»°¡ ¿Ô½À´Ï´Ù.
I came to preach this.
³ª´Â Àü¿¡µµ ¿©·¯ºÐ¿¡°Ô ¸»¾¸µå·È½À´Ï´Ù.
I have told you before.

I am not a social worker just because I give you rice.
³ª´Â ¿©·¯ºÐÀÇ ÀÚ³àµéÀ» °¡¸£Ä£´Ù°í ±³À°ÀÚ°¡ ¾Æ´Õ´Ï´Ù.
I am not an educator just because I teach your children.
Àú´Â º¹À½ ÀüÇÏ´Â ÀüµµÀÚÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
I am an evangelist, who preach the gospel.
³ª´Â ¸ñ»çÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
I am a pastor.
¾îÁ¦µµ ÀÌ µ¿³× ¾ÆÁָӴϰ¡ Àú¿¡°Ô ÀÌ·± ºÎŹÀ» Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
Yesterday, a lady from the neighborhood asked me this favor.
¸ñ»ç´Ô, ÀÌ µ¿³×ÀÇ °è´ÜÀÌ º¸¼ö°¡ ÇÊ¿äÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
Pastor we need to repair the stairs in this neighborhood.
¸ñ»ç´Ô, ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ½Ã¸àÆ®¿Í ¸ð·¡°¡ ÇÊ¿äÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
Pastor, we need cement and sand.
¸ñ»ç´Ô ¿ì¸®¸¦ µµ¿ÍÁÖ¼¼¿ä.
Pastor, please help us.
ÀúÀÇ ´ë´äÀº ÀÌ·¸½À´Ï´Ù.
My answer is this.

Why should I help you?
±×·¯¸é¼ ³ª´Â ÀÌ·¸°Ô ¸»Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
Then I said:
À̹ø ÁÖÀÏ¿¡ ±³È¸¿¡ ¿À¼Å¼ ±âµµÇϼ¼¿ä.
Come to church this Sunday and pray.
±×·¯¸é Çϳª´ÔÀÌ ´ç½ÅÀ» µµ¿ÍÁÖ½Ç °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
Then God will help you.
¹Ù¿ïÀÇ ¼³±³¸¦ ¿ä¾àÇÏ¸é ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀº ±×¸®½ºµµÀÌ´Ù´Â ÀǹÌÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
Paul's preaching in summary is Jesus is Christ.

Jesus did not suddenly appear one day.
±×ºÐÀÌ ±¸¾à ¼º°æ¿¡ ±â·ÏµÈ ºÐÀ̽ʴϴÙ.
He is the one recorded in the Old Testament.
±×ºÐÀº ¾Æºê¶óÇÔÀÇ ÈļÕÀ̼̽À´Ï´Ù.
He was a descendant of Abraham.
±×ºÐÀº ´ÙÀÀÇ ÀÚ¼ÕÀ̼̽À´Ï´Ù.
He was the son of David.
±×ºÐÀÌ ¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
He is Jesus Christ.
±×ºÐÀÌ ¿ì¸®µéÀÇ ÁËÀÇ ¹®Á¦¸¦ ÇØ°áÇØ Áּ̽À´Ï´Ù.
He has solved the problem of our sins.
¿ì¸®´Â ž ¶§ºÎÅÍ ¿øÁ˰¡ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
We have original sin, since we were born.
±×¸®°í ¿ì¸®µéÀÇ À߸øÀ¸·Î ÁöÀº ÀÚ¹üÁ˰¡ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
And there is a great offense made by our mistakes.
¿ì¸®µéÀº ´©±¸³ª ÀÌ ¸ðµç ÁË¿¡¼ ±¸¿øÀ» ¹Þ¾Æ¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
We must all be saved from all these sins.
±×·¯³ª Àΰ£Àº ½º½º·Î ±¸¿øÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.
But human beings cannot save themselves.
Àΰ£Àº ¾î¶² Á¾±³ÇàÀ§·Îµµ ±¸¿øÀÌ ºÒ°¡´ÉÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
Human beings cannot be saved by any religious act.
¿ÀÁ÷ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¿¡ Á×À¸½Å ±×ºÐÀÌ ÀλýµéÀÇ ÁË ¹®Á¦¸¦ ÇØ°áÇϼ̽À´Ï´Ù.
Only He who died on the Cross has solved the problem of sin in our lives.
±×·¯¹Ç·Î ¿ì¸®µéÀº ±× ºÐÀÇ ´ë¼ÓÀÇ ¼ÓÁ˸¦ ¹Ï¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
Therefore, we must believe in His Atonement.
ÁÖ´Ô²²¼ ³ª¸¦ À§ÇØ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¸¦ Áö¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù.
The Lord bored the cross for me.
ÁÖ´Ô²²¼ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¸¦ Áö½Å ±× ÀºÇý¸¦ °±À» ¼ö ÀÖ°Ú½À´Ï±î?
Can you repay the grace of the cross?
ÀÌÁ¦ ³ª´Â ÁÖ´ÔÀÇ ½ÊÀÚ°¡¸¦ ÀüÇϰڽÀ´Ï´Ù.
Now ,I will preach the cross of the Lord.
ÁÖ´ÔÀ» ´õ¿í ´õ »ç¶ûÇϰڽÀ´Ï´Ù.
I will love the Lord more and more.
